white bull

COM
In my last Saturday Critters I shared a donkey and two miniature horses. Today I'm sharing a white bull that lives down the road from us. He wasn't quite sure what to think about my daughter and I being outside his fence line. A time or two he acted as if he would charge us. Instead he stood his ground. Isn't he a beautiful creature? Happy weekend to all Saturday Critter bloggers.

Saturday Critters

I took the images above the same day as I snapped porTREEture. I coudn't resist their muddy faces/ bodies. We'd had a hard rain the day before and I'm guessing they played in the mud a bit afterwards. The donkey didn't like my presence as he E-hawed at me approaching the fence. I tried to give him a handful of grass to eat and he didn't go for that either, but... I did get to pet his face before he walked away from the fence. The black & brown ponies are miniatures. Hope you enjoyed my Saturday Critters this morning. Happy weekend~

cooper's hawk

COM
Pictured is a cooper's hawk. She/ he flew onto this post in front of my house one Nov 2014 morning. Naturally I ran to get my camera. She/ he stayed long enough for me to snap this image through the glass of my front door. It's rare to see them this close to my home. They usually fly in around the other end of our neighborhood as there's more tree cover.

baby squirrel

I couldn't resist sharing this baby squirrel from a local fish hatchery... it was initially on the ground foraging when we came in to see the fish. I wasn't able to get a picture of him then but... on our way out we managed to see him again. This time I had the camera on the ready and handed it to my husband who then snapped this adorable shot. Isn't he a cutie?

Eastern Fox Squirrel

Initially this eastern fox squirrel was enjoying something in the road... perhaps roadkill? When I approached to closely he/ she ran to this wood fence and ran across the boards. Luckily I was able to snap a few shots before a car coming interrupted our photo shoot. Happy Crittering~

Cardinal

COM
Around 7:30 pm this cardinal and a female came to my bird feeder. He kept flitting around so I was able to capture different poses. Here's one of the photos I really liked from his shoot. I might share another one for Wild Bird Wednesday so don't forget to come back and see what other poses mr. cardinal shared...

Besides a male and female cardinal being at my bird feeder last night there was a mockingbird, red winged blackbird, mourning dove and two different sparrows. Yesterday morning I woke to find four goldfinches and three mourning doves at the back feeder. I think the mourning doves are a mother and her two babies.
