This past Monday it rained .14" here. When I looked outside I spotted this rain bedraggled robin on my porch shakin' her tailfeathers and preening herself. I couldn't resist filming her actions. The video was taken with my cell phone and worked up in a video app called videoshow. Hope you enjoy. Happy Saturday~

During my walk Wednesday I took wildflower pictures that thrive along my route. Each one was taken with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge cell phone. Shown from the beginning: dog roses (rosa canina), tall bellflower (campanula americana), common morning glory (ipomoea purpurea),  needs identification, common milkweed (asclepias syriaca) and trumpet vine (campsis radicans). If anyone knows the name of the flower in the fifth pic please comment below.

The smell of a copycat Carrabba's lentil soup is permeating the house as I type my post tonight for 30 Days Wild, Day 30. The wildflower behind the good fence is a moth mullein. I retouched the image taking liberty of removing the daisy's that had seen better days. I then ran it through an app with painting ability. Hope you enjoy this beautiful flower.

1) Spotted this baby robin yesterday in my yard. By evening  he or she was hiding beneath our eastern redbud for protection. If you look closely you'll see it has its downy hair still. Isn't he/ she adorable? If you'd like to see a video of him/ her hopping around in the yard waiting anxiously for mamas return you can go here. Sharing with 30 Days Wild, Day 24.

2) Yesterday my daughter was feeding her outside dog when she saw a snake. She came back inside for me so I could have a photo op. Naturally I follow her to the corner of our house and before I could snap the first shot it slithered away from sight, sigh...

3) Earlier this week a dear friend returned from her vacation with a gift for me.
It says: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Proverbs 3:5... Isn't It beautiful?

4) Last Saturday I received my amazon order which included a fitbit clip replacement, a fitbit wristband and three books (Let Me Die In His Footsteps by Lori Roy, The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler and Etta and Otto and Russell and James by Emma Hooper). Currently I'm reading Let Me Die In His Footsteps. So far I'm enjoying the read.

5) I recently bought my husband a weather station as a father's day/ birthday gift. Since setting it up we've had a few storms to pass through. Yesterday morning it registered the rainfall as .75". It rained again that evening and registered .08". In all we almost reached 1" of rainfall yesterday. I bought that station for my husband and I've been as excited to watch those numbers as he has.

This cottontail has been gracing me with its presence for several weeks now. Yesterday evening I was able to capture this video footage of him/ her nibbling on the grasses. I'm sharing with Good Fences and 30 Days Wild, Day 23.

June 14th I spotted a young buck and while driving home yesterday I spotted this doe alongside the road. She was kind enough to allow me a side profile picture before running off into the woods. Photo was taken with my cell phone. I'm leaning the best camera is the one you have with you. Each deer was spotted exactly one week apart. 30 Days Wild, Day 22.

So good to be back. Last week was a skip in my routine. I got to be part of a friend's 60th birthday celebration and a blessing for her short vacation. I also had a sunburn I was nursing. That meant I didn't walk outside or get any new pictures for 30 Days Wild. Today's pic is one I took with my cell phone earlier this month and grunged on my computer. These blooms are peonies. I walk past them everyday during my morning exercise. Aren't they beautiful?

Today hubby and I went kayaking at Kincaid Lake. This is one of many dragonflies we spotted during our paddle. I had to share because of its wing's reflection on the log.

Despite becoming a bit dehydrated and sunburned we had a great time. We spotted two great blue heron, a green heron, Canadian geese, two ducklings, lots of turtles, a buck and some finch that were in someone's yard. One decided I was to close to its home and came swooping down to my kayak. Made me smile.

Today's 30 Days Wild (day 7) image is of an eastern box turtle that was on my walking route this morning. I never know from one day to the next what I will see crossing the road. After photographing, I placed him/ her off road. By the time I'd returned for my second walk through he or she had already gone. At least it didn't make it back onto the road.
