They must have heard the conversation with my husband at breakfast this morning because these two American goldfinches showed up with two others afterwards. Their song is beautiful. They were chattering away when my husband and daughter left for work and school today. I was able to walk up to the feeder quite close and take this photo too. They must be getting used to my presence now. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Beautiful little creatures - and so different to our UK Goldfinches.
I love your photos of nature, especially the birds. Good job with the camera.
I love the American Goldfinch. Not sure why but I rarely see them in the winter. They are very noticeable here in the summer. Great shot.
I too love little wild birds. Great photo!
Cheers!

They are already changing to the summer colors. They are friendly little guys, and cute, too.
I love your racoon, too!
That was taken this morning??? Ours do not have near that much color yet. Maybe you are farther south than me...whatever, hoping all is going well in your world.
They are so pretty. Yours already have their yellow spring feathers. Ours are still mostly brown.
I need to start putting out birdseed again. Goldfinches are great to observe.
Such beautiful color. You have a wonderful talent for capturing nature.
Even in the drab winter colors, the goldfinches are a welcome addition to any bird lover's yard. They just calmly eat and ignore what is going on around them mostly.
They are cute aren't they? I love the little 'zeeeet' calls too. Thank you for feeding the birds....Michelle
This is a lovely photo. I do love goldfinches. I've seen them a few times flying around in Illinois and saw a whole bunch at the botanic garden. I've never heard their song though. You're so lucky to have them so close to you.
