trumpet vines

These trumpet vines are growing along both sides of the road near our house. The other day I went down to capture a turkey vulture eating a fish that was thrown out alongside the road. When I got down there the vulture flew away and never returned (at least not while I was there). So that all was not lost I snapped some shots of these trumpet vines and worked them up in photoshop to look dreamy. The ants must really like something about these flowers because they were crawling all over some blooms. I may share that picture another time. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Commenting Drives...

As most of you know from a quick note  I had trouble commenting on some of your blogs. I have since found a solution for commenting on Blogger's embedded comment forms. My current browser is Mozilla Firefox.  I love it but sometimes it doesn't function well with websites or blogs as I've recently found out. After a suggestion from a fellow blogger/ facebook friend to use Google Chrome I decided to check out my Internet Explore. I'm happy to report this worked. So far I've had no problems.

But, I still can't comment on some Wordpress blogs. My problem seems to be that I deleted my Wordpress blog (thinking this would clear the problem up) before changing my primary email address. So, now I have no access to the Wordpress blog which I didn't use anyway and no way to change the email address associated with it, lol. Does anyone know a way to fix this?? There has to be a way around this issue. I know I could use my personal facebook account to sign in but I don't want to do that. I'd rather sign in using my blog name so as to direct people to my blog instead of my personal facebook account. Anyone have any suggestions??

I wish I could say this was my only technical problem at the moment but, it's not. When we tried to load software for my new Cannon ink jet printer last night we had problems installing. So, we decided to wait until today to work on it. When I turned on my computer this morning I found that I couldn't go to my C or G drives.  I'm a little flustered as that's where I store all my poetry, photos, downloads, etc... Here's hoping my hubby can restore everything while also installing my printer software.

Unknown Birds

Though it would appear I took a picture of these trees it is the birds I wanted to share. They're perched in the bare tree.  At first I thought it might be a pair of owls but now I'm not so sure. I've looked through my bird book trying to identify them and can't find anything resembling these beautiful birds. Click on the picture to enlarge. If you have any information on these birds please share. Have a great day~

Note: Due to the distance between my kitchen window and the field across the road the birds aren't in the greatest of focus. But, i think one can get the impression of what they look like.

Just a quick note to let everyone know I'm having some trouble commenting on your blogs. It's mostly those who own a Wordpress blog but there's also been some Blogger blogs too. I thought initially my Wordpress blog (created for my writer's group) was the problem but I deleted it today and I'm still having problems.  Does anyone have any suggestions that will help me improve my blogging interaction with you?? If not, it may take me a long while to figure out how to comment on your blogs again. Please know that I am working very hard to correct the problem and that I'm catching up on my reading of your blogs again. Thank you for your understanding and patience... now, i'm off to cook some Spinach Lintel Soup for supper...

a morning haze dyes
the surrounding lawn, white-
i'll grow in its silence
as the fog dehydrates
from a rising sun.
i'll see well tanned teasel shelving
its sleepy head along a barbed wire fence.
i'll hear chunter
between a robin and her three young
who are nestled
safely in a gutter's nest...
verdant grass will give way
to a blue horizon.

Great Blue Herons

Here's a photo that closely resembles my haiku, sentries, from yesterday. It shows five great blue herons with six of the eight nests residing in a sycamore tree.  I'll share more photos in the coming months. Until then, what's your greatest moment in nature?

You know you've been gone for a long time when Blogger has a new look and feel upon your return. I think I might like it after I learn my way around again.

Today I had a strong urge to post something here and would like to say thank you to everyone for your patience in my long absence... I've truly missed blogging and seeing what everyone has been up to lately... Hopefully I won't let everyone down during this new jumpstart. Luckily I have lots of pictures to share and a few new poems too...

I'll start with a haiku I wrote about some great blue herons. A friend of mine came upon eight great blue herons one day while out taking pictures and was gracious enough to share with me and another good friend the location. When we arrived at said location we saw six heron and eight nests... My haiku reflects this scene...
