Great Blue Herons

Here's a photo that closely resembles my haiku, sentries, from yesterday. It shows five great blue herons with six of the eight nests residing in a sycamore tree.  I'll share more photos in the coming months. Until then, what's your greatest moment in nature?

Cool shot of the nesting herons. I've only seen them in flight or standing on one leg in the water.

Psst...Naquillity...the titles I shared over at my blog are my very own books! As in my two releases. Woo hoo! Partay!

BOUND BY DRAGONSFYRE began its life as the serialized fiction you used to follow over at my blog, about the falconer's apprentice.

I know so little about birds. I wasn't even aware that herons actually nested in trees. DOH!

hello Travis~ with these birds being so big you'd think they'd want a nesting closer to ground. they were beautiful up in that sycamore. i simply love the great blue herons... thanks for stopping by. have a great day~

Wow..that is cool! I was disappointed that the heron rookery we always visited was empty this year. Apparently they moved to a new location and I don't know where.

thanks Mary~ so sorry you weren't able to see any heron during your visit this year. maybe you'll find their new location soon and can visit them there. have a great day~

That turned out very well. I like the sketch effect as well as the original.
