they shall feel of dark blue

they shall feel of dark blue among the foliage,
where coi swim.
rushes lean w-i-d-e over their bare, geishan feet,
the water pulling their shadows like dark trees.

where coi swim,
kimonos lie in long veils.
the water pulling their shadows like dark trees
with soft, pink-white shivers.

kimonos lie in long veils
across an articulate stream
with soft, pink-white shivers
cherry blossoms mount in water dance.

across an articulate stream
rushes lean w-i-d-e over their bare, geishan feet,
cherry blossoms mounted in water dance-
they shall feel of dark blue among the foliage.

i wrote this poem for my writer's group meeting tonight. our writing exercise was to write a pantoum. my poem was inspired by a scene i'd created with my rubber stamps...

Whoops, that was me!

Sorry for messing this up first time around.

What imagery in your poem! So evocative, sensitive, oriental in essence - and ethereal ... not a word I normally associate with 'dark blue'!

I'm glad (I think) that you showed us the poem on its own first, but will we get to see the rubber stamp art, too? I have also enjoyed stamping - and embossing. I should try it again once we have moved out of our temp. apartment into our new home - but most of my craft stuff is currently packed away :-(

I like the choice of words. Many were quite unexpected but still very expressive. I enjoyed the piece.

Beautiful poem. I love, love. love the notion of an "articulate stream"!
