Barn Charm
Last week while waiting for my husband to get off work I walked around taking pictures. This barn and the one below were behind my husband's workplace. Doesn't the rust & dilapidated boards create such atmosphere? The farm had a house and a large pond too. Wouldn't it be great to fix a place like this one up to its former glory?

I can imagine it with a bright green roof again... though it would be almost a shame to cover up the rust.
I had a friend a very long time ago who wanted to be a photographer and I suggested he travel through Illinois and photograph the old barns. They are picturesque and at some point fall down or are razed. He thought it was a dumb idea, but I have yet to see a barn that didn't warrant a photo. I like this one for a couple reasons, but the rust is really sort of eye-catching.
What wonderful shots of the charming barns. I agree about the rust and old boards creating a great atmosphere.
Looks like it would take a lot of time and dedication to fix up, not to mention money but wouldn't it look great.
I used to love looking at old barns when we were living in the Midwest and passing them on the highway. They all looked like they had stories to tell. Your photos are terrific. I just love the colors.
There is just something about old barns that looks charming no matter what shape they are in. I love seeing photos of them. You must be feeling pretty good!
We have quite a few of those around these parts. They do create quite the rustic scene. I always wonder about the people who owned them.
Hope you are feeling better.
Evocative photos, Naquillity. I'm so glad you are out and about . . .
What is it about barns that are so neat? I loved playing is a relatives hay barn when I was a child. I can still smell it and it makes me smile. Hope you are getting your strength back.....hugs... Michelle
These are great barns!
I love barns. The older, the more rustic, the better. These are lovely, lovely!
I could just see this place as a great bed & breakfast location with a little fixing up, or as a great photo op just the way it is. Either way, very cool!
Very nice; my in laws are barn photographers. They would just love this area.
Yes, it would, but I so love to see these dilapidated barns! To me, the more run down they are, the more attracted I am to them! I know... weird, isn't it?! LoL! =)
Thanks for telling me about this great find... join in Monday evening/Tuesday if you're able! =)
I so love the atmosphere of old barns! There is something so earthy, so close to holding the spirit of Mother Nature! Great photos!
I love old barns! And rust adds so much to it! :0) I'm so glad you're getting out and about.
