Sunrise

I wake to a beautiful sunrise this morning with yesterday's snow clinging to earth sharing its sparkling diamonds. The air is crisp and clean as it enters my lungs. I'm breaking snow as I walk across my yard towards the bird feeder. I want to treat the birds to a berry medley I bought last night at the grocery store.

What treats do you share with your birds at their bird feeders?

Beautiful photo and words, Naquillity! And I LOVE the photo of the raccoon you have on your header.

We have a snowy crust here too, but I haven't been out yet....

Lovely, lovely image!

My birds get cracked corn on the ground in winter (and when the band-tail pigeons are around) but mostly black-oil sunflower seed.

Also two suet feeders with mostly peanuts and peanut butter.

I saw lovely "bird seed" eggs at my market last night. Pretty. But it seemed rather cannibalistic. But they were tempting anyway. :-)

Since I have an outdoor cat, I feed him on the patio floor. The birds always eat the leftovers and also sip from Kitty's water bowl.

Love your pictures, by the way. The geese were so pretty in the sky.

It is beautiful.

I have several mixtures, on with berry, one with corn, and that suet dough recipe that has been going around. They love that.

What an exquisite photo!
We mostly use sunflower seeds because it attracts the most different bird species. It also attracts squirrels, which can be a little annoying, but hey, they want to eat too.

Seeds custom mixed by Wild Birds Unlimited that's supposed to attract song birds. The feeder needs to be refilled.

Gorgeous photo!

We don't have a bird feeder, but I'd like to get one soon. There's a tree just outside our bedroom window, and I could look at it every day. Or maybe hang it near the deck. But a hawk did try to share my dog with me once when I was walking him. He's a small dog (7 pounds), and the hawk would have tried to carry him off if I hadn't stepped between him and the dog!

Sparkling diamonds sounds much better than glitter. :) Lovely!

My suet is still being ignored even though I put out fresh. Maybe I should smear it with peanut butter? Black oil sunflower seeds, bird seed mix and cracked corn. Also, I try to remember to give them a chance at some water.

This is beautiful! I basically feed mine suet of various flavors, sunflower seeds, and peanuts on occasion. I buy cheap peanut butter and spread it around, too in the winter.
