Colon Cancer- update

Four thirty this morning it was still raining outside and by eight: snowing. What a beautiful sight to my tired, Christmas shopping body. We received about an inch and are expected to get more tonight. I'm afraid we won't get the 'BIG' snow I so long for but at any rate I still love what we have.

Thank you to those who've stopped by and left your support, kind words & prayers for me. It's greatly appreciated. Monday of this week I went to see the colon/ rectal specialist about my colon cancer. He said I definitely have cancer and surgery (through a small incision) will be needed to remove the right side of my colon as well as the lymph nodes surrounding the area. If there's no complications (1 in 100) from surgery I will not have a colostemy bag. My blood work came back really good and the CT scans show no spreading. As for chemo... to early to tell. We need to learn what stage my cancer is first.

It's strange for me to say I have cancer when I don't feel sick or feel any initial pain. The only thing I can say is I'm tired A LOT. Still I fight through this so as to enjoy my last few days before surgery. For those who'd like to know when & where my surgery will take place please email me at naquillity at hotmail dot com. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday~

I hope you get the deep snow soon, during my mums treatment she was so tired, it took a lot out of her but now she's back to her old self after her operation and radiotherapy course. Wishing you all the best and will be thinking of you.

I would have sworn I commented on this? I'm so sorry if I didn't.

I'm sorry to hear about the cancer, but I'm relieved to hear that the prognosis is good!

Also, I'm sure you're welcome to visit my family in Wisconsin if you're craving that kind of snow! ;)

You are indeed a beautiful strong woman! I had my scare with cancer some years ago and remember the extreme tiredness! I am clear now! Positive inner thoughts and a will to achieve I am sure is a great way to develop inner strength!

Namaste!

Thank you, Naquillity, for thus update. You are particularly on our hearts at this time of year - along with your family. I'm reading your posts backwards, so I know you have been busy shopping, which is great. I also loved the Blue heron photo.

Wishing you many blessings, peace, and healing.

We ended up getting about six inches of snow, sure makes things look a lot more cheerful--though my husband isn't thrilled about having to plow our very long driveway.

I'll be sending out good thought for you that the surgery will go well. I'm glad the scans didn't show any spreading. I recently had a PET scan which didn't show any metastatic recurrences for my cancer (melanoma which I had groin nodes removed for years ago but still see an oncologist). I know how tense the scans can be. I'm glad you are feeling well. Your photography is such a delight. Love the birds in the posts following this one.
