Hawk
Early this morning we were on our way home from town when I looked over to see this hawk. Originally he was on the ground and I, of course, didn't have my camera. We sped home grabbed the camera to find the hawk still enjoying something upon our return. We managed to get turned around so that I was positioned for the picture taking when a dragonfly or damselfly flew inside our car. Undetoured I snapped the picture.
I think this is my best shot, so far, of a hawk. I haven't played with this image in Photoshop yet but would like to see if I can take that leaf away from his face so you can see it a bit better. But, that will be for another day as I'm tired right now and getting ready for bed. Good night~

I see hawks around here but never get the opportunity to photograph them. Very nice!
Good shot of the hawk. I photographed a hawk that was in my trees a lot until breeding season. I haven't seen the hawks this summer so I expect they are mostly hunting here in the winter. By here I mean my garden. In the winter there were a couple of them who would sit for ages in the trees and even on garden structures in my yard.
Was very touched by your post yesterday. Thank you for those thoughts - which relate to our blogging community [blogosphere sounds a bit impersonal].
Well done for seeing the hawk, and having the presence of mind to get the camera! A great picture!
I don't think I have ever got a decent shot of a hawk. This is a good one.
Nice to get shots of the raptors. I am begining to think that photoshop may be a good idea when there is a lot of clutter in a shot.I have used paint Brush to remove small unwanted features on rare occassions, but I find that too tedious. For now I will stick to what comes out of the camera, with some cropping.
Well considering that you were under attack by a dragonfly at the time, I must congratulate you on a great photo. Hopefully many more to come.
wow. these daily nature adventures of yours are absolutely amazing and make me looong to move out of the city. i apologise for not commenting these past few weeks. its been hard managing work and the ghost of what used to be my personal life.
