What a great photo! I LOVE old houses, even the ones in need of some TLC.

Happy Wednesday, G

I find many abandoned old places to be so intriguing! Wish they could be redone to their former beauty but know it would cost big bucks.

This is so typical of old abandoned home places in the country. I just love this photo!

Nice photo.

I always get sad seeing places like that, almost like I can feel the house's loneliness. All it needs is a little love you know?

Inspiring photo...such a beautiful house in its fragile, charming wretchedness. :)

A picture paints a thousand words... (like fair Helen's face which launched a thousand ships in the Trojan War, i suppose!).

Great, evocative photo, Michelle. I am just back from the isle of Skye where we saw some lovely rural buildings and crofts.

We have alot of these rural abandoned farm homes in this area and I have stood in a few of them just imagining the lives that used to be in them, the footsteps of children running up and down the stairs, the clank of dishes in the old kitchens, the smell of the wood stove in the parlor. These homes raised generations of Americans, and now they lie dormant and silent eventually falling prey to the nature around them.

Great photo, thanks for sharing it. :0)

This is fantastic. It does fit my poem choice well ;-)

Have a great day!

I am filled with questions:
who built it?
how many families have lived in it?
where are they now?
and finally how do you simply abandon a home?
Maybe I am surprised because I have always lived in the city where every nook and cranny is filled to capacity.
But someone happily moved into their new home some time in the past, and it was that house, and I wonder just what happened.
Thanks for sharing.

The title fits well with the abandoned house.

What a sad sight. I would love to go back in time to see what it used to look like!

That old place has so many stories I bet. That's the quality of this photo - the untold stories.
