I Shall Let The Wind

I shall let the wind
Push thirty two shades of
Red, yellow and orange
From your limb
While watching your
Exposed cambium
Suffer winter's boast.

I shall let the wind
Whiffle, whet each leaf,
As they hasten across
Earthen tones and,
Bare difference to
Stretched green-brown
Landscapes.

I shall let the wind
Ache for a new day
And, fresh new leaves.

Written for 3ww.

Michelle, this is haunting; it catches in your mind as you read it. I like this very much.

(And I'll see what I can do about the blog roll, I think Pia did that.)

I think I may have said it before - if not I have certainly thought it - but your connection with nature - your appreciation of its beauty or simply your recognition of a poetic pattern that exists within it is admirable! I so often get stuck writing from my own selfish perspective - of my own selfish emotions. I find is so refreshing that you move beyond that.

I find is so refreshing that you move beyond that = I find IT so refreshing, too! Curse my speed-typing typos!

This seems to place an intentionality in nature. Deeply moving.
