Lest We Forget

Lest we forget
The valley is humming with
One hundred hummingbirds
Pressing their wings
Against fruitful air.
Their long, tenuous bills
Dipping into the
Red music of burning glass;
A league of sugared, red droplets
Shattered upon thirsty tongues.

I love the last 2 lines of this, especially the shattered droplets. You know, that lovely line - Red music of burning glass - from the prompt, has hung around with me all week, and although I've put a few words together with it, none sing yet, so it's great to read your piece.

That is gorgeous, one hummm of life and sweet nectar, what a lovely poem for a Sunday morning.
