Lipton Sunset

Bring me the sunset in a cup,
Let me taste its Lipton Rivers
Upon my salivating tongue.

Bring me the sunset on a canvas,
Let my fingers seek playful caress
Through these cotton fields.

Bring me the sunset to my ears,
Let me listen to its concerto
Before I close my eyes.

Bring me the sunset in a cup is the first line of an Emily Dickinson poem.

In England we have a brand of tea called Lipton's. Is it the same with you? I like the way you've used the different senses here.

sunsets and lipton tea, nice combination. I really enjoyed how you expanded the line from Dickinson and adapted it to the other senses.

Nicely written, a gentle rhythm
makes this poem flow.

Gorgeous dream-like quality. Lipton tea sounds exotic!

This is a great poem, Michelle. Who better to turn to for inspiration than Emily Dickenson.

BTW, I tagged you for a bio!
