Sandman Lullaby

Her soft wheedling
Tangles in tiny fingers
Entwining mother and baby
In pastime lullaby's.

Sandman arrives half-past midnight
With variegated dreams
Caught in his pocket.

Butterfly wings
And, lightning bug things
Eager to play
Upon watercolor seams.

Laughter's sinuous perfume
Dances into sacculated clouds
Where Sandman takes his bow.

3ww words are in bold.

This is wonderful tribute to babies and mothers. I love the third stanza and how it ends with 'Upon watercolor seams'. Gentle and soft.

Really beautiful language throughout, Michelle.

I love dreams, the ones you wake up from and wish they'd been real.
