That Ageless Sound

It's that ageless sound
Of half broke horses
Breaking earth
Under an afternoon sun.

Of half broke horses
She's come undone
Under an afternoon sun,
These things... hidden.

She's come undone
This is all
These things... hidden,
Of dust on air.

This is all
Two hoofs breaking earth
Of dust on air-
It's that ageless sound.

Today's prompt was to use three book titles in a poem. I used these titles:

Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
This Is All by Aidan Chambers

And, I also used a horse photo I'd taken at River Downs last year.

I am really excited by this one, Naquillity. Terrific - and (I think) very YOU! So innovative and fresh.

How great that you are taking part in the National Poetry Month challenge. I hesitated and decided just to write a Haiku a day for the duration of my holiday instead. I still need to polish these up a bit!
