Northern Mockingbird

Wednesday my daughter drove me to the Ohio River Valley Art Guild so I could spend some time with friends and wonderful artists. It was a great day. Afterwards we went to meet my husband at his work place to make supper plans. While we waited I was able to walk around outside and snap some pictures of this cooperative northern mockingbird.

You appear to be recuperating very well, Naquillity...nice that the weather permitted you to get out and walk.

I'm so happy to see you recuperating nicely.

I was surprised when I saw and heard my first mockingbird in California. I'd never seen one in Illinois.

You caught him just right. The background is as pretty as he is.

Glad to hear you are out and about, and filling your mind creatively.

Just came over to check how you are doing. Good news by the sound of it. Well done.

DELIGHTED to catch up on these cheering and upbeat posts, Naquillity, after your recent surgery. I've been away with family over the holiday, and so have been catching up on my blog and others rather late in the day. Still, the year is young - and the fact that you are doing so well is the best news. I don't know where you are in the time zone in comparison with me, but we've noticed the last couple of days that the sun has been staying out longer (or at least on cloudy days, the darkness has not fallen so early).

Great to see a Mockingbird - and I love your doves, too.

You have such beautiful pictures of birds here-- but the racoon- they have become our enemy around my Japanese ponds and water pots as they will eat the gold fish and koi-- though I know that is how nature works and all animals are beautiful.

I wouldn't know a mockingbird if one bit me on the nose, but I like the song. Oh, I guess two songs come to mind about mockingbirds. Anyway, he's very pretty. I like birds, but you guys all have it over me with the photography and identification. I'm so glad you are feeling good.

Doesn't look like you got the snow that came through this way. Great shot of the mockingbird.

I really enjoyed this pic; we don't have them here that I have ever seen. Nice shot. I like the designs of the fence and brush too. Very artistic.
