Field of Geese

This morning I had the good fortune of spotting hundreds of geese in this open field. They were foraging beneath freshly fallen snow for food. I can't remember a time when I've seen so many geese in one place other than possibly the lake. Even then I don't believe there were hundreds. I'm hoping everyone can click the panorama to enlarge the view. It's certainly a sight to take in.

In the fall of the year we see a wide area of geese gleaning a farmer's corn field, but not quite as many as you've sighted. Creamer's Field in Alaska is a large gathering place for geese...blogging friend Elaine at Artic View post photos of them sometimes.

Are those dots actually geese? I can't really tell, but will take your word for it. That's incredible and must have been a sight to see. I don't think I have ever seen a real live goose.

I'll bet it is a corn field. They pass here in much smaller numbers. That was a chance sighting, huh?

Oh wow, now that's a lot of geese, and in the beautiful winter surroundings of their natural countryside habitat. Magnificent shot.

It once felt like there were that many geese around my old apartment complex, but that was mainly because they loved to hold up traffic during rush hour by proudly marching single file heads held high right in front of a line of waiting cars!

Just wonderful, Naquillity! A veritable winter wonderland panorama - hope you are keeping warm! We had tiny snow flurries today, nothing much, but a cold north-east wind.

We were just out today and seen hundreds and hundreds on the strip pits and in the air...always gives me a thrill to see them and I have lived here for years.
