Red Tailed Hawk

He sits in a tree not far from my home, talons secured to a branch, as a cold November wind scuds across his breast. The sun illuminates his presence among a copse of trees backdropped by a gentle blue sky. He's leery of our presence at the highway's shoulder but pauses long enough for me to secure a few good shots...

Isn't it fun to watch a hawk? As long as they aren't eating the birds at the feeders :-) Hope you feel better and am sorry that you have been sick.

This was really interesting to see, Naquillity, especially in the light of my Red Kite post. I had not heard of a Red Tailed Hawk before.

Wonderful video. The red tailed hawk that spent a lot of time in my trees last winter hasn't returned yet (or one of its children) but I expect to see them soon.
