Last night I drew the above picture, Woodland Glade (project 5), by John Barber from The Color Pencil Wheel Book. Aside from my perspective being off I felt my amateur attempt was a decent one. What do you think? Below is the original by John Barber.

Nice shading and cross-hatching.
Good job. Shading is what gets me, whether I'm sketching in pencil or color. Yours is looking good though, perspective comes with more practice. Or so I am told. :-)
Hi, Michelle. Thanks for visiting my site and your kind words. I think your drawing is a good exercise. The hardest part for me is to catch the energy of the original, which requires creating meaning as well as faithful line. I think you do both, despite your concern about perspective. Did Picasso worry about perspective? Keep drawing!!!!
So lovely, I really like your soft shading.
loved the medium and form michelle... absolutely decent and beyond!!!... so glad you are posting your progression with varied art forms... tho i do not comment as much as i should like to always glad to see your posts...
Looks very inviting; was to step into it and go for a walk?
You did great! I like the teal pencil you chose.
Such talent, I am impressed! Just started looking through your headings. You are certainly a busy woman.
You mentioned going to an herb fair in my comments.
Do you have an herb garden? I have been growing them for over 30 years. That is one of my favorite parts of gardening.
