I Shall Let The Wind

17
COM
I shall let the wind
Push thirty two shades of
Red, yellow and orange
From your limb
While watching your
Exposed cambium
Suffer winter's boast.

I shall let the wind
Whiffle, whet each leaf,
As they hasten across
Earthen tones and,
Bare difference to
Stretched green-brown
Landscapes.

I shall let the wind
Ache for a new day
And, fresh new leaves.

Written for 3ww.

Febrile Imaginings of a Blind Owl

0
COM
In the febrile imaginings of a blind owl
There once was a tual not far from
A grove of feathered bullics.

Plic. Plic. Plickety, plack.
Mumbligigging could be heard from his back.

Seeking evidence of this growing sound
The owl turned his head and pnoted
Two field mice scurrying over
The hill at midnight on their joichers.

Tentamered with their flight, the owl
Flit his wings wide, lighting the sky
With rewdne dust and whate.

Plic. Plic. Plickety, plack.
Mumbligigging could be heard from his back.

The owl, obfully waiting for his snack.

Birdsong

Abbreviate the fluctuations of her throat;
Erected birdsong flutters upon her tongue.
Delineation is sussed out on the third note.
Naughty cicisbeo forgotten, she sung.
Yearn spurred her voice to connote
Nostalgia as her last song was sprung.

bleeding the sky blue-gray
to gray-white morning
a cacophony of raindrops
thrash on the back deck.
my eyes seek an unobstructed
view of the rain-
a moth seeking shelter
from the cold, vindictive drops
pelting her spotted brown wings.
time continues to tick
in an effortless circle
as my eyes tock upon
fifteen blackbirds
lined across a tightrope.
they flap away the cold
my hands hold
as I reach to
close the door.

Wet. Unopened summer.
Wandering midges spinning
Aimlessly around the frizzes,
Every skip beats dry bones.
Temper’s breath caught in
The noose of sunburnt skin.
Light tilts Cypress tree definitions.
Hypostasis settles,
Unaware of viridian bruises
That caress the chthonic ruins.
Noonday birds approach
From behind these navel woods.

Sextuplets

0
COM
At the half-acre edge yesterday
We searched the underbelly of tall grasses,
The womb’s dark corridors dilated 10cm.
Perfect, round bodies are extracted.
We cut their umbilical cords. They… winced.
Swathed in nurturing arms
We carry sextuplets inside our home,
Their button- buttons already outies.
We imagine their faces, beautiful fractures,
On Halloween emitting a soft, orange glow.

Serenity

COM
I wish I could give you the country
And, all it’s swinging bridges -
Bouncy as a bungee cord.
A place away from loud voices,
Honking car horns, tall buildings.
I want to give you things that heal:
the face of a white tailed deer
pockmarked rocks
babbling streams…
serenity.
